Vocation Promotion

Formation

The primary objective of religious formation is to prepare individuals for total consecration to God in Love, to follow Christ and be t the service of the Church and her mission. The expectations and obligations placed upon is to say ’yes’ to the Lord’s call, to take personal responsibility for maturing in one’s vocation.

Formation is a process which enables religious to become humanly integrated and authentic, intellectually alert and well informed, spiritually mature, doctrinally sound, supports the formee to be a woman of prayer, socially capable of dealing with all sections of people.

Vocation Promotion

Goal
To awaken the attentiveness of the young girls to God’s call, to follow Him more closely in the religious life, and to facilitate their free response.
Objectives
  • To develop in the youngster an increasing awareness of self as Christian
  • To promote awareness and understanding of the value and place of religious life in the church and in the world today.
  • To make known the congregation, it’s mission, it’s charism, I’s spirit.
  • To assist the candidates to grow in the disposition that will help them and foster their character formation

Candidacy

Goal

To assist the candidate to better discern God’s call, and to evaluate her ability to respond to it as a Sister of St. Charles  Borromeo, and thus enable her to make a free and mature decision.

Objectives
  • To provide the basic theoretical and experiential knowledge of religious life, the congregation, it’s spirit, Charism and mission, the life in common and apostolic services.
  • To initiate her to personal and community prayer.
  • To provide means and opportunities for human growth on all levels: Physical, intellectual, emotional, Spiritual.
  • To provide the means of learning the English language.

Postulancy

Goal

To help the postulant make gradual transition from the lay to the religious life and introduce her to the life of the congregation.

Objectives
  • To help her pursue her spiritual and human growth at all levels.
  • To grow in the understanding of Christ’s way of proclaiming the Good news and to develop a preferential love for the poor and marginalized section of Society.
  • To deepen in her an interest for the different cultural value of India and its heritage.

Novitiate

Goal

To enable the young woman to deepen her Christian identity in the Church and foster growth in the response of her religious, missionary vocation in the congregation.

Objectives
  • To lead the Novice to center her life on Jesus Christ and imbibe His attitudes and values in her daily life, learn the meaning of taking to one’s cross daily, and learn the serious demands of the Gospel and the mission.
  • To initiate the Novice into the life of community and the living of the evangelical counsels of Chastity, poverty and obedience, by the study of the constitutions and Directory.
  • To initiate the novice to the Charism of the congregation and provide apostolic and missionary experience, proper to the needs of the local Church and the Institute.
