Patne Parish had 236 parishioners only and review the faith of the faithful the then Bishop of Belgaum, Rt. Rev. Bernard Moras invited the sisters and the pioneering community sisters at Patne were Sr. Justine Lobo, Sr. Lucy Miranda and Sr. Florine Rego.
Patne is a very isolated village lacking in opportunities for education and employment. Therefore along with the faith formation of the catholic faithful the priority was to work the development programs too. Empowering women of their dignity and rights was also a necessary. The healthcare of women and children was largely neglected in this area.
