Commission For Spirituality And Formation – (COSAF)

Aim:

To contemplate   the face of Merciful Jesus and radiate his compassion to our sisters in our Communities and to the people.

Objectives:

To create a joyful community and to strengthen the interpersonal relationship among the sisters through different arranged programs, recollections, seminar and dialogue.
Group building games,Bible Quiz based on the Gospels, Celebration of the Eucharist with the theme CELEBRATING YOU AND ME

To enable the sisters to deepen their intimacy with Jesus for growth in spiritual life :

Sisters remain faithful to all our spiritual exercises - meditation, reading and reflection on the word of God and other spiritual books. Spending quiet moments with the Lord, recitation of Rosary and divine mercy chaplet.

Everyday two hours of adoration which enriches sisters mission and enlightens the minds and hearts.

Sisters give reflective talks on every recollection day based on the themes given.

Sisters deepen their union and have a deeper relationship with God in Prayer.

Sisters remain faithful to the time of spiritual reading.

Reading the biography of St. Charles Borromeo, preparation for the feast, Novena prayers were sent also the liturgy was proposed giving scope to the creativity of the sisters. Message of the Holy Father for the World Day of the Poor was sent to the communities, the Day was observed in a befitting manner.

There are 455 lay associates in 11+6+ different communities who work in collaboration with us in our ministries.

Meeting of S.C.B. Animators and Co-ordinators of Charlian Bees. At this meeting hand out was given on 10 things in ‘ChristusVivit’ addressed to all of us who work with young people. Each community was given a copy of the book, ChristusVivit sponsored by a former student. All were given Xerox copies of ‘Alive Christ, Alive Youth, Alive Church, Pope Francis’ Recipe for Youth as guide line for the study.Marian Devotion of Praying the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the families every day was encouraged. October was declared as a Missionary Month, Missionary Rosary was circulated for the communities and S.C.B. Associates.

To work systematically the recruitment plans for vocation

The council appointed vocation promoters in all the communities and made the animator of the communities to be in charge of the vocation promotion activities. They work in collaboration with one another in promoting vocations.  

Our Activities

Evangelisation of young parents by preparing them for the baptism of their babes

Preparing school going children and adults to receive the initial sacraments of baptism, confirmation and communion

Evangelisation of the parents of the children participating in catechism by helping the parents to participate in the catechetical animations; prepare with the parents the catechism which will be given to the children. It is a moment of joy and sharing where parents share their questions and problems.

Coordination of funeral service, moment when people are in sorrow and anguish need words of compassion and hope. Also when possible participate in the funeral service assuring the readings and intentions.

Visiting the sick and needy and give communions to the sick as well as home for the aged

Animating Eucharist in the home for the aged, Formation of the altar boys and girls, preparing the old people for a peaceful death, listening to their pains and sorrows.
  • Sacristy work and Flower arrangements in 2churches in order to help the people to pray.
  • Sisters participate in the Holy Eucharist in different parishes, where people like to confide their intentions for prayer.
  • Road apostolate: on the road (when we walk) people stop us to share their problems and ask us for prayers
  • Service for the people who come for the retreats, recollections and spiritual needs.
  • Attentive listening, praying, cooking serving, cleaning ect…
  • Sharing our spiritual thoughts with broken families, divided families, strengthening their faith, preparing the young couples.
  • Accompanying the special children and youth , preparing them for the sacraments.
